Hire Period

Delivery & Collection

  • Afternoon Teas (food supply only) and picnics are available either as a collection from DE22 2UE at an pre-agreed date/time, or we can deliver to you (delivery may incur a delivery charge)
  • Picnics can either be collected from DE22 2UE at a pre-agreed time/date, or can be delivered to your home or a collection point (delivery may incur a delivery charge)
  • If you are using our vintage china to ensure the safety of the china and for peace of mind, we will deliver and collect our china. Delivery for a full package of food and china for minimum of 8 guests is free within 5 miles of DE22 2UE. Delivery for a picnic (food only) package for a minimum of 6 guests is free within 3 miles of DE22 2UE. Delivery in excess of this mileage will incur a charge which will be advised at time of booking
  • Delivery and collection details will be agreed at the time of booking.



Food Safety

  • All of our food is produced under strict food safety guidelines and will be kept in the correct conditions until delivery to you, or collection by you. From this point the food and any drinks becomes your responsibility and should be kept in cool conditions (ideally refrigerated) until needed by you.
  • Any food not consumed at the event should be eaten as soon as possible and high risk food should be disposed of if not eaten within 4 hours of delivery or collection if left unrefrigerated.
  • Suitable containers will be provided for you if you wish to return any unused food back to us for disposal



China Care

  • During the period of hire the care of the china is the sole responsibility of the hirer.
  • China is not dishwasher, microwave or oven safe and under no circumstances should be placed in any of these.
  • Due to the age of the china it is incredibly delicate and needs particular care when washing and drying hence we will do this by hand, free of charge. We insist that all our china is returned to us UNWASHED as we prefer to do this by hand ourselves.
  • We do ask that you remove all food and/or any remaining liquids from all china and rinse china before wrapping in newspaper provided and replacing in the original crates ready for collection. A bag will be provided for the original packaging. Please note it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all items are repacked with care for their safe return.



Our China

  • All vintage items for hire are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and are carefully checked for any substantial or noticeable imperfections prior to hire.
  • Due to the nature and age of the items, patterns, glaze and gilt can be expected to show signs of wear.
  • It is the responsibility of the client to check the consignment of vintage hire on delivery and notify the company of any loss or damage on collection.
  • Any damage should be highlighted on the delivery note which will require a signature to verify safe and correct receipt of ordered items.
  • If an item is damaged and unusable then a suitable replacement will be supplied by Bees Knees Vintage Events at no additional cost. Due to the nature of the product and availability of stock an exact like for like replacement may not be available.



Damage Deposit

  • A damage deposit is required for using our vintage/ contemporary china which will be agreed and paid for at time of booking, This is fully refundable on the safe return of all the hired goods.
  • In the unfortunate event of an item being damaged or lost we will expect you to tell us when we collect the consignment.
  • The hirer will be notified within 72 hours of collection of any loss, damage or breakages.
  • Replacements costs are realistic, not punitive and can be issued by request at the time of booking.
  • The deposit balance will be returned to the hirer by post within 14 days of the end of the hire period. If damage exceeds the agreed damage deposit the hirer agrees to pay the excess.
  • Under no circumstances should the hirer try to repair and damaged items.




  • When we have completely discussed your requirements and you feel comfortable with the service we can provide, your booking can be confirmed by paying 50% of the total event cost plus the total delivery charge. This will be your booking deposit.
  • All deposits are to be made via cheque or electronic transfer (details on booking form).
  • Receipt of the deposit and booking form will be taken as confirmation that the hirer has read and accepted the terms and conditions stated here.
  • Deposits will be returned in full up to 14 days before the event in the event of a cancellation in writing.
  • Deposits for cancellations made after this date will only be refunded if the event can be rebooked.
  • Requests for additional items added to the order once the final balance had been paid will be accommodated where possible.
  • Unfortunately the order cannot be reduced after the final balance has been paid.
  • Full balance of payment is due 7 days before the event



Booking Cancellations

  • All cancellations must be made in writing by email to hello@beeskneesevents.co.uk.
  • Any cancellations made within 7 days of the booked event date will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the booking charge.


Props and additional hire items

  • All additional props and hire items (and costs) will be fully detailed on your booking confirmation.
  • As these items are often delicate items we will provide specific packaging for their return to us
  • In the unfortunate event of an item being damaged or lost we will expect you to tell us when we collect the consignment.
  • The hirer will be notified within 72 hours of collection of any loss, damage or breakages.
  • Replacements costs are realistic, not punitive and can be requested at the time of booking




  • Prices quoted at the time of booking and receipt of deposit will be honoured for the date of the event.
  • Bees Knees Vintage Events take no responsibility in the event of injury to any party through breakage of equipment and/or any other accident, damage or incident during or after the hire period, including any consequential loss.
  • Bees Knees Events reserve the right to refuse a booking.
  • Bees Knees Events reserve the right to amend our hire fees and terms and conditions at any time.
  • The Hirer shall not re-hire, sell, pledge, part with possession or otherwise deal in any way with the Equipment and shall protect the same against distress, or seizure. The hirer shall accordingly indemnify Bees Knees Vintage Events against all losses, damage, cost, charges and expenses that may occur by any failure to observe and protect the owners rights under this condition.
